Conservatory Professional Highlights:
- In 2000, Dr. Karen Walker was a featured artist at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Vietri and Ravello, Italy.
- An active member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Virginia Music Teachers Association, she served as the Collegiate Chair for the Performance and Chamber Music Competition from 1996 to 2004.
- Dr. Walker has been involved in the development and leadership of Shenandoah Conservatory’s World of the Piano, a concert series devoted to promoting excellence in piano performance and providing first class artists in live performance throughout the academic year.
- Her principal teachers were Thomas Mastroianni, Fernando Laires, Luis de Moura Castro and Arthur Tollefson.
